About

Jaye is an interdisciplinary artist from Taoyuan, Taiwan. Jaye considers zirself ze/zir but doesn't mind being called by any pronouns. After all, English is not zir native language.

Ze currently lives and works between New York & Taoyuan and has exhibited zir work in the U.S., Russia, Germany, and Taiwan.

Zir work ranges across media: from paintings, video, sculpture, and performative work dealing with themes of melancholy, ephemerality, loss, and temporality. More recently, ze has turned to digital media, exploring space, the in-betweenness, and fears/possibilities of connection.

“The extent to which Jaye respects — or, indeed, even understands — the funny/serious dichotomy is unclear.” —— Nic Johnson, Art Critic from the University of Chicago

Jaye can't hold eye contact and is sadly very socially awkward. In terms of actual skills, Jaye got breadth but no depth.
